Position Objectives:
There is currently two (2) Seats available on the Braham Planning Commission. This seat has a three (3) year term. To be considered; the applicant has to be a resident of the city or own/or work for a business located in the city. The successful candidate will be compensated a per Diem of $25.00 per meeting.
The City's Planning Commission is responsible for ensuring development within the city meets the standards of the comprehensive plan and the zoning code. The Planning Commission is scheduled to meet the 4th Monday of the month at 6:00 pm (Then next day if that Monday is a Holiday) at City Hall.
The Planning Commission shall act in an advisory capacity to the City Council, and shall have the powers and duties given such agencies generally by M.S. §§ 462.351 through 462.365, as they are amended from time to time. It shall also exercise the duties conferred upon by the ordinances of the city pertaining thereto, and the duties conferred by resolution of the City Council.
From time to time the city will have public hearings on ordinance amendments, zoning items, wellhead protection, special assessment matters, and other items that require public hearings. All public hearings will be held at Braham City Hall, 201 South Broadway Avenue, in Council Chambers.
